The qualification covers the most commonly faced canine emergencies such as how to treat injury, dress wounds, allergic reactions, stings, poisoning, choking, seizures, CPR, hypothermia and much more.
The qualification is an excellent balance of theoretical and practical learning to ensure Candidates have the knowledge required should they ever be faced with an emergency first aid situation.

- Unit 309 Canine Emergency First Aid
The qualification consists of one mandatory, theoretical and practical unit, designed to provide the required underpinning knowledge and skills in canine first aid. The materials and learning are designed to give clear guidance on how to meet each specific criterion.
Objectives of the qualification
This qualification is aimed to take Candidates on a journey from complete beginners to competent and confident in carrying out canine emergency first aid. Depending on the needs of the individual Candidate, the qualification can:
- Prepare individuals to progress to a qualification in the same subject area but at a higher level or requiring more specific knowledge, skills and understanding;

This qualification is valid for 3 years before requiring a refresher training day.
Each candidate with receive an industry recognised certificate for their learning.

This qualification requires practical training, the course will run from The College of Animals Studies, please bring your own refreshments. Duration of the course: start 10am – Finish 5pm. Breaks included.
